Gry Ardal Christensen - Current research
My primary interest is questioning ethical selfhood from a phenomenological vantage point centering on concepts such as transcendence, freedom, intersubjectivity, responsibility, and home / homelessness. From a perspective situated somewhere between Heidegger, Arendt, and Lévinas I am interested in the philosophy of alterity and of the relationship between self and otherness, exteriority and interiority.
In continuation of this I also work within the field of transitional justice ethics as well as the ethics of punishment and reconciliation. on the philosophy of justice both as a purely philosophical enquiry into the concept as a relationship between self, other and community, and as a practical investigation of the normative underpinning of the expanding global juridical order.
