Perceptual Presence in Early Phenomenology
A workshop with Alessandro Salice, University College Cork, and Søren Overgaard, University of Copenhagen
Perceptual experience is a key topic in early Germanophone phenomenology. Many early phenomenologists took issue with Husserl’s treatment of the topic. This workshop explores aspects of this disagreement, in particular the diverging takes on perceptual Leibhaftigkeit or ‘givenness-in-the-flesh’, which were arguably at the heart of the dispute.
The event is in-person and open to all.
