The Borderlands Between Perception and Imagination
The workshop will be an in-person event with registration, and all are welcome.
The workshop’s main focus will be on those cases that challenge the traditional distinction between perception and imagination. It seems intuitive to contrast what is 'real' with what is 'virtual', 'fake', 'fictional', 'imaginary' or 'hallucinatory'. This distinction is well-established in phenomenology, psychopathology and the philosophy of mind.
However, this workshop aims to show how this principal contrast is not unproblematic. The workshop will grapple with these issues through various disciplines, including philosophy, psychiatry, psychology, and cognitive neuroscience
